Fall Wedding Cakes

Fall weddings are so beautiful. The weather is usually gorgeous with a crisp cool feel to the air. The trees have started turning to their spectacular colors that overwhelm us each year. Having a wedding in the fall is a great time and gives the bride some truly beautiful colors to use in her wedding. Of course, a bride can use any color scheme she wants but the fall season seems to be the one time of year that call for earth tones of orange, brown, yellow, and cream. Fall wedding cakes can be so lovely if they reflect the beauty of the season.

If the bride goes with a fall theme, the wedding cake can certainly be a centerpiece of that theme. Using beautiful fall colors on the cake, the baker can create a spectacular affect. Instead of using the typical flowers, the decorator might want to create leaves as part of the decorations. Ribbons and fall flowers can add that spectacular effect that every bride dreams about.

The cake table should be directed with bright leaves that have been dried and pressed. Making sure that the leaves are not poisonous is also a good idea. The flowers that adorn the tables and the walls should be fall flowers. Using fall flowers that are found everywhere will save money because importing flowers is very expensive.

A fall wedding is the perfect time for a chocolate wedding cake. Fall wedding cakes can be chocolate because fall flowers look so beautiful on the chocolate. Everyone loves chocolate so most guest will be more than happy to dig into that chocolate cake. Fall wedding cakes don't have to be chocolate but that certainly is an option.

Be careful not to use too much orange on your fall wedding cake or people will associate your cake with pumpkins or Halloween. A little orange is nice but too much will take away from the beauty of the occasion. Especially if your bridesmaids are wearing orange which would be beautiful, you don't want to overdo the color.

A great cake topper for fall wedding cakes is a bouquet of mums in several different colors. You might even have them on the cake layers to consolidate your fall theme.

Fall is a great time for a wedding. Fall wedding cakes are the perfect way to reflect the beauty of the season especially if the wedding is held outside among the glowing trees and their beautiful leaves.
